That is all.

Subduction zone: the region in which one tectonic plate bends and goes under another tectonic plate, heading toward the earth's mantle and MELTING, which in turn creates volcanoes and earthquakes. I'm just sayin'.

I thought subduction was making whoopee in an undersea vessel.

Or a form of liposuction that goes for the fat UNDER the fat...

Onekotan is in Russia’s Kuril Islands between Japan and the tip of the Kamchatka Peninsula. The islands were formed by volcanic activity caused by the subduction of the Pacific Plate beneath the Eurasian Plate. Subduction can also generate some of the largest earthquakes on Earth, including a magnitude 9 here in 1952 which was followed a week later by Krenitzyn’s only historical eruption. This image was captured by the Advanced Land Imager (ALI) on NASA’s Earth Observing-1 (EO-1) satellite on June 10, 2009.

I once heard the best marine is a SUBmarine…

but that was a Navy subs guy, who was the son of a Marine… of course there was no gentle ribbing between family members.

The best SUBmarine is from Quizno.

Or maybe I am saying that because I like the Spong Monkeys...

occurs when two tectonic plates collide;denser plate dives below less dense plate;subducted plate remelts from increased temperature;plate is forced back up due to change in pressure from melting;volcano ranges form above/parallel to line where plates meet.

found these notes from an oceanography course.

I was gonna post that, but ya beat me to it. The zone that immediatly springs to mind is the Pacific Trench.

Back to verify. Eye muscles. I'll go back to trying to look at the seam of the wall meets the ceiling.

When I was in the Navy, we Commander in Chief Band musicians were put in the same barracks with a buncha guys from Fleet Submarine Force Atlantic. When we wanted to pick a fight, we would call them sub-mariners. :-)
