The word, Abyss

The word abyss means very very very deep hole. Measurements such as ocean depth I think. Or maybe a tunnel. Down deep the earth has a layer of magma, but is anything past this? I always thought this was an interesting study. I doubt there are field trips though.

Abyss means bottomless, or otherwise immeasurably deep. From the Greek abyssos.

Field trips to the iron core are available only to those with a LOT of money, and don't mind the heat.
