Wed, February 15, 2006 - 1:09 PMi got a personalized licsense plate for my wife because she wanted heated seats that reads LHOOQ because in french it translats into "she's got a hot ass" only to find out later that it also is slang for "she likes to fuck". NOt that she is objecting or anything. -

Thu, February 16, 2006 - 6:51 PMI'm waiting until I have a new (replacement) car before I put this one on, 'cause I only have the one:
"English doesn't borrow from other languages. It follows other languages down back alleys, knocks them out, and ruffles through their pockets for loose grammar."
Or something very much like that. -

Fri, February 17, 2006 - 7:45 PM>>I dont even know what that means?<<
I think, therefore I'm female
-
Re: Word Freak bumperstrickers
Fri, February 17, 2006 - 9:27 PMShe's borrowing Rene Descartes' famous Latin phrase:
Cogito ergo sum
(I think therefore I am) -
-
-
Re: Word Freak bumperstrickers
Sat, February 18, 2006 - 11:53 AMYes.. sorrry for not translating it! I think therefore I am female... it could also be: Cogito Ergo Mulier Sum "I think therefore I am woman". I like it because Descartes was a pretty sexist/hyper-rational dude, so the humour lies there for me. I am not one to think less of men (or anyone else for that matter).
Then there is also: Non Cogito Nimis Ergo Non Sim (I don't think much therefore I might not be!) I do like the Latin ones for some reason.
Cheers!
